Anna Brain has started a discussion: IBM Research -is looking for a Cloud Architecture Researcher "Job description Cloud Architecture Researcher Location: Haifa or Tel Aviv IBM Research Lab in Haifa is seeking talented system software researchers and architects to pursue innovative research and development in the area of advanced cloud infrastructure technologies. In particular, we are looking for candidates who would be able to take a leading role in development of novel technologies to enable efficient hosting of complex resource-intensive workloads (such as Big Data Analytics, HPC, etc) on a cloud infrastructure. This includes provisioning, orchestration and optimization of the individual application components as well as of the application as a whole, leveraging cutting-edge open source software (notably OpenStack -- the industry-leading open source cloud middleware), and designed to run on commodity and/or specialized hardware (virtualized and bare-metal). Acting in a highly dynamic and agile environment, our researchers are engaged in a variety of diverse innovative activities, ranging from exploratory algorithmic research (targeting publications in top-tier academic conferences and journals), to architecture, design and implementation of advanced systems and technologies (targeting IBM products and offerings). Moreover, in order to make impact on IBM's products and on the broader community, we pursue a wide spectrum of collaborations, including IBM product development teams, open source communities, as well as numerous industrial and academic partners (including collaboration on EU-funded projects). Requirements: - M.Sc. Degree - At least 5 years of experience in a relevant field (academic and/or industrial) Preferred: - Experience in developing and/or operating virtualization management and/or cloud management frameworks - Involvement in systems-related open source communities - Publication record (academic or technology-oriented venues) - Entrepreneurship spirit Go to the link to see more details.
